JTI Polinela Students Triumph at AITeC VI 2024 with AI and IoT-Based Smart Agriculture Innovations
Students from the Information Technology Department (JTI) at Politeknik Negeri Lampung (Polinela) have made remarkable achievements at the Agricultural Innovation Technology Competition VI (AITeC VI) 2024. Competing at a national level, two teams from JTI secured 1st and 2nd place in the Smart and Precision Agriculture category, further establishing Polinela as a pioneer in agricultural technology innovations.
The 1st Place was awarded to the team of Rahmat Hadinata, Hafish Arrusal Isfalana, and Satria Divo Praditya for their innovation titled “AI and IoT-Based Precision Agriculture System for NFT Hydroponics Optimization.” This system leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to enhance the efficiency of Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponics. The system allows for real-time monitoring of plant conditions, optimizing the use of water and nutrients, and promoting a more sustainable farming method. This innovation earned them the top prize in the Competent category.
The 2nd Place in the Skilled category went to the team of Gilang Rizki Ramadhan, Dzakwan Akbar Perdana Wijaya, Naufaldi Favian Archi, and Fenni Aprilia, with their project “Smart Planting System Based on Environmental and Soil Data for Sustainable Agriculture.” This project focuses on helping farmers make better decisions by using environmental and soil data to manage crops more efficiently, aiming to improve yields while preserving natural resources for the future. Dr. Ir. Septafiansyah Dwi Putra, Director of Polinela, expressed his pride in the students’ success. “These awards show that Polinela students are leading the way in agricultural innovation.
